Wide Open Road - France Route Notes.

Our route notes are printed on A4 sized paper and folded into thirds. The top two thirds of the first page will consist of an initial introduction to the area in which you are cycling. The lower third of each page contains detailed directions on how to follow the route. When folded into thirds, our instructions will fit either into a plastic sleeve (which we supply) and then into the rear pocket of cycling jersey OR into the map section of a handle bar bag. Either way it should be possible to see the detailed directions at a glance.

After the initial introduction on page 1, subsequent pages will
include road maps of the area that we are cycling in. These will have the correct route highlighted in a bright colour.

For our trip in France, the
detailed directions which appear at the foot of each page use symbols which reflect the local signposting conventions. As an example signs for town names in France appear as black text on a white background with a red edging, our directions follow the same approach. This means that the directions should resemble the signs that you are seeing along the road.

The directions include
approximate distances, the road numbers, the signposts you will see.
